Los Angeles and Orange County Area Ikea Stores Raise Over $14,000 for Habitat for Humanity Affiliates - Check Presentation Ceremony to Take Place April 8th
Local Habitat for Humanity Affiliates teamed with IKEA to raise money for its local affiliates in a weekend promotion at the company's four Los Angeles area IKEA stores.
The promotions which took place over one weekend in February raised $14,360 and a check presentation ceremony will take place on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 1:30pm at the offices of Habitat for Humanity's San Gabriel Valley affiliate. The promotion at the Los Angeles and Orange County IKEA stores, called "Bedroom Event", featured a Kids Slumber party with Radio Disney, Stress Control Workshops, Bed Making Contests, Dream Analysis plus other complimentary activities for children and families.
IKEA donated $10 to Habitat for Humanity Affiliates for every mattress sold during the promotional weekend

Habitat for Humanity affiliates from South Bay/Long Beach, San Gabriel Valley, Orange County, and Los Angeles will divide the $14,360 proceeds for the purchase of materials needed to build homes for local residents in need."We're thrilled that a brand like IKEA has helped join our cause to eliminate poverty housing", says Erin Rank, President of Habitat for Humanity's Southern California Affiliates Association.

Proceeds will be divided between the four affiliates as follows:
